When I first started Ananda&rsquo;s weight-loss program I really had no idea what I was doing, all I knew was that the time in my life during which I could eat whatever I wanted and have no consequences had come to an end. I wanted to not only fit in my old clothes again, but I&rsquo;d also noticed that in addition to extra weight I had also become much more lethargic than I used to be and those two things combined weren&rsquo;t great for my overall happiness and quality of life.<br />At Ananda we started by weighing and measuring so that I had a base point to reference for my success in the program, we then had a very honest conversation about my diet and eating habits &ndash; during which I learned that I could still eat good meals and tasty food just minus a few things. I, for the first time ever, became fairly knowledgeable about what different foods can do and what they can&rsquo;t do. This allowed me to figure out how to make meals that I know I like in a healthier fashion.<br />Next, we discussed my exercising habits. These were almost nonexistent with the exception of yoga once per week. I was informed about the importance of balance in different types of exercise. I signed up for classes which helped me stay motivated because I wasn&rsquo;t alone, did yoga with friends, and in the end found it all to be very meditative and almost Zen like. Ananda&rsquo;s team is easy to talk with and very knowledgeable &ndash; I truly believe that knowledge is power when it comes to health and wellness. &nbsp;<br />&#8203;<br />Join me this Saturday, February 22, at Ananda Acupuncture &amp; Wellness Center for one of their very informative weight-loss classes!
